Coaching

Executive and leadership coaching, whether for an individual or a group, is the foundation of my consulting practice. I work with high-achieving clients who are visionary leaders dealing with complex business situations. Using specific techniques and keen listening skills, I can guide you from single-mindedly driving for business results to aligning your work in the world through understanding your authentic self.

Enneagram Assessment

My core values guide every coaching engagement.

I believe in the worth and dignity of others. I bring my whole self into my coaching that has been honed through richly lived experience — the highs and lows — and through years of investment in the integration of mind, body and spirit.  As a result of my years of personal and professional development, you will experience open-mindedness, inclusivity and freedom from judgment.

Individual Executive Coaching

Individual Executive Coaching involves partnering one-on-one with a skilled professional to clarify ways to become more effective than you ever thought possible. And when I say partnering, I’m intentional about that. As my client, I help you develop your own capacity and visibility within your organization. We’ll focus on leadership development — more “who you are” than “what you do.” When our coaching engagement is over, you will continue to grow, using the tools and techniques we have discovered together.

What My Clients Say

“Mary Jo offers a keen insight into situations and people that promotes open thinking and allows me to see things in a different way. She brings clarity to issues that stand in the way of my success and initiates dialogue necessary for progress. I know that I have not only grown as a leader but also as a person as a result of her executive coaching.”

Vicki Smith
CPA, CITP, Director of Information Technology
Helena Chemical Company

“Mary Jo [gave] me a clarity into my assumptions and provided a sounding board for solving challenges that are difficult to share with others close to me. I have learned my strengths and use them in dealing with everyday issues. In understanding what is my essence and what are my values, I can easily make better choices for long term goals. Mary Jo helps bring the day-to-day challenges into a kaleidoscope of alternatives, providing for better solutions.”

Frances B. Craig
President
Unanet Technologies

“It’s a very personal and powerful experience to be working with someone to find your own way that feels true to yourself. Mary Jo has a maturity and presence that makes it easy to feel confident in the work we do together. She’s good at patiently listening and knowing when to ask a question. The other thing she’s good at is not letting the person being coached off the hook. Because Mary Jo has a direct and warm communication style, she’s good at that part.”

Group Leadership Coaching

Positive Intelligence© Coaching involves exploring and uncovering your unknown areas of belief and behaviors that prevent change and limit your possibilities for success. Based on deep research and facilitated virtually in a small group, the content for this unique group coaching is a powerful booster, Positive Intelligence©. By learning with a small group of professionals, you build your mental muscles, raising your Positive Quotients©, or PQs. You will develop new skills to identify your Saboteurs (negative messages that block efforts for transformational change) and learn to balance them with your authentic Sage powers (strengths that bring energy and focus to the areas of your life you want to improve or change).

As a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach™ (CPQC), I facilitate each Positive Intelligence© coaching group, usually a diverse group of mid-level and senior managers who want to accelerate their personal professional development. The eight-week program will help you develop new skills that lead to new ways of thinking and increase positive energy, creativity and resourcefulness. Participants not only learn what needs changing, they practice techniques that bring about desired change. Discover more about Positive Intelligence© here.

What My Clients Say

“The group coaching using the Positive Intelligence program helped me to sort through a lifetime of programming and conditioning to what is authentic about me and to further clarify Who I Really Am.”

Susan C.
Healthcare Administrative Director

“Through the group coaching with Positive Intelligence, I have not only increased my self-awareness, I am also raising my consciousness about how to live my life. Mary Jo is a careful listener, able to ask revealing questions, and brings helpful tips to those of us seeking to become better at tending to our life intentions. She is highly skilled in making the material come alive in a profound way.”

Dr. Ellie R. Millam
WorkWise Coaching & Consulting

“Learning the Saboteur/Sage framework is very useful in focusing your energy to create positive change in your life. The PQ pod that Mary Jo curated was so special, and the way we were able to share and support each other was extraordinary.”

Ruth Tutor
CFO
Radians, Inc.

“Positive Intelligence helped remind me of the importance of knowing myself. Going through the exercises is calming, but secondarily, knowing your Saboteurs and Sages — putting a label on them, identifying them, knowing what they are and what they mean, and how to make them work for you instead of against you — was very helpful. You know how you operate, but it was eye-opening to see how it works.”

Karen Rhodes
Vice-President, US Sales Operations, Cranial and Spinal Technologies
Medtronic

“There is no way I can describe the change in myself over the last six months. Although there have been times that I doubted myself, I have come through a much stronger and confident woman. I credit the Positive Intelligence program with my new-found life. You, Mary Jo, helped me through what could have been the worst time of my life, and I have come out on the other side better than I could have ever imagined!”

Enneagram Assessment

Enneagram Assessment is for clients who are interested in deeper self-learning, especially identifying blind spots that are impacting relationships with others. You can complete the AIM Enneagram assessment in less than 30 minutes. You’ll receive a basic Enneagram report back, complete with clear and practical explanations for advancing your personal and professional development. In a 60- to 90-minute feedback session, we’ll consider the report’s recommendations together and discuss a plan for moving forward.

What My Clients Say

The content of the Enneagram report wasn’t surprising, but what was really helpful to me was how Mary Jo saw connections I didn’t see and made suggestions that gave me insight and helped me handle a particular situation. She has an extraordinary depth and breadth of experience and is insightful, kind, attentive . . . she’s one of the wisest people I know.
